Profile of China National Garment Association
Founded in 1991, China National Garment Association (CNGA) is a self-disciplining, nonprofit and nationwide organization of China's garment industry and among China's first 4A industry associations. The secretariat of CNGA comprises Administration Department, Membership Department, Industry Department, Information Department, Exhibition Department, Liaison Department and Coordination Department. CNGA has also established 8 commissions: Men's Wear, Women's Wear, Children's Wear, Sports & Casual Wear, Lingerie, Accessories, Downwear & Related Products, Garment Auxiliary & Related Industry and a few professional institutes: Marketing Expert Committee, Technical Expert Committee, National Apparel Standardization Technical Committee, Industrial Economy Research Institute, Business Wear Research Center and Beijing Fashion-Expo Co., Ltd. The association strives to provide various services related to garment industry for the government, industry, enterprises and society with the purpose of promoting the development of Chinese garment industry. Industry Research: Integrating the social and industry resources, conducting research on industry, brand, market, science & technology, and etc. and publishing research results periodically. Information Service: Collecting information and resources in every aspect, effectively facilitating the communication, service and cooperation between apparel industry and other sectors, home and foreign apparel industry through the website and official publications, and building a platform for information communication and image promotion of the garment industry. Industry Service: Through the integration of resources, CNGA provides various professional services for companies of different categories, which forms an effective service system and framework, practically solves the industry's common problems and offers a healthy and sustainable environment for the garment industry. Industry Activities: Exhibition, forum, award, and industry conferences, with extensive industry base and of significance for the industry, help CNGA integrate various resources to meet the general demands of the clothing industry and promote the overall development of the industry. Coordination & Promotion: The industry coordination of CNGA facilitates service and coordination among enterprises, upstream & downstream sectors and industry clusters, and enables communication, coordination and optimization among industry chains and different industry regions. Meanwhile, international dialogues and activities of industrial diplomacy are also organized to strengthen coordination and exchange between China and foreign countries to promote international cooperation. At present, CNGA has over 1500 major members, which include most of China's original apparel brands, local garment industry associations and well-known apparel cities & townships, with service covering tens of thousands of clothing companies and relevant firms & clusters in the industry chain. |
