The year 2009 is an unusual one because of the financial crisis starting from 2008.

In 2009, China's consumption picked up and contributed a lot to the country's GDP. The "defensive value" presented in the adjustment period of consumption industry developed into the "long term investment value" with stable growth. From the perspectives of the central government's attention, financial support, institutional reform and some concrete measures, China's general merchandise-based retail industry has acquired historic development opportunities.

The numerous garment markets making great contributions to China's trade also express their resolution and confidence in upgrading and support of self-innovation. Large garment markets as Changsu Garments City in Jiangsu all take actions and expedite their pace of development.

New channels like B2C emerged in the garment market competition in 2009. How to get a continuous growth while making profits has become the problem that the industry has to think about.
