Founded in 1991, the China National Garment Association (CNGA) is a national social organization representing the Chinese garment industry and is recognized as one of the first 4A industry associations in China. Aligned with the economic objectives set forth by the Party and the state in the new era, CNGA is dedicated to the mission of strengthening the Chinese garment industry. It acts as a bridge among various stakeholders, supports government decision-making, advocates for industry interests, fosters collaborative innovation, and promotes high-quality development. As a comprehensive, hub-like, and open organization, CNGA provides diverse services to both the industry and its member enterprises.

Currently, CNGA has over 1,200 member organizations, encompassing many of the nation's leading apparel brands, manufacturing enterprises, local industry organizations, and key industrial clusters. Its services extend to tens of thousands of businesses, actively promoting technological advancement, brand development, industrial collaboration, market expansion, international exchange and cooperation, and sustainable development within the industry.

The Secretariat of CNGA consists of six functional departments: General Affairs, Communications and International Affairs, Industry, Technology, Collaboration, and Exhibitions. It also features three working committees: the Industry Development Committee, Industry Experts Committee, and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Fashion Industry Collaborative Development Committee. Additionally, there are 12 specialized committees dedicated to men’s wear, women’s wear, children’s wear, down and leather goods, customization, pants, workwear, national style, denim, e-commerce, industrial chain, and school wear. The association includes various working mechanisms such as China Garment Strategic Alliance for Intelligent Manufacturing Technology Innovation and CNGA Standardization Technical Committee, along with organizations like Beijing Fashion-Expo Co., Ltd. and Beijing Fashion-Union Co., Ltd.
